Pier Elia Benetti is a visual designer from Venice, Italy, currently based in Helsinki, Finland. His practice spans visual communication and art direction, with a focus on brand identities, design systems and motion graphics.

He studied Visual Communication and Product Design at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, before moving to Helsinki to pursue a Master’s Degree in Visual Communication Design at Aalto University.

Working across print and digital media, he explores how typography, imagery and movement can come together to communicate ideas. His approach combines clear, precise visual structures with experimentation and an ongoing interest in learning new tools.

Work Experience

Lead Motion Designer – Näytös & Näyttely 2026Aalto University Fashion and Textiles (02/2026 – 06/2026)

Co-developed the visual identity for the 2026 edition as part of a team of three and led its motion design direction. Created motion graphics for screens across the event and the city. Contributed to social media and designed website and live stream assets, ensuring consistency with the visual identity.

ARTS Student Tutor – Visual Communication DesignAalto University (2026 – 2027)

Student tutor supporting incoming Visual Communication Design students with peer guidance and practical support, drawing on my experience of studying at Aalto University.

Visual Design Assistant – Faculty of Design and ArtFree University of Bozen-Bolzano (01/2025 – 05/2025)

Collaborated on various projects, workshops, exhibitions, and conferences. Responsibilities included designing printed and digital materials (posters, event layouts, and social media graphics) and curating the faculty’s social channels. Provided support to professors and assisted in faculty workshops and at the BITZ FabLab.

Events and Media Assistant – Press & Events ManagementFree University of Bozen-Bolzano (01/2024 – 12/2024)

Contributed to the planning and execution of events such as conferences and academic gatherings at Unibz and NOI Techpark Bolzano. Responsibilities included creating graphic, photographic, and video materials, as well as managing event support, front desk, and hospitality to ensure smooth execution and a positive experience for attendees.
